The Discriminative State and the Compulsory Faith

When it comes to religion I'm highly sceptical. Very fscking highly sceptical in fact!

But it's still interesting, cos so many ppl are wrapped up in the large knot of beliefs which some people call religion and others call insanity.

Anyway, this is an excellent article about Islam, by an Islamic scholar who (to my mind) seems to know his stuff.

i'd bet my soul that God is exist. and i am highly sceptical that religion is no longer needed within the society structure.

but that has nothing to do with the topic of M. Ali article.

my good friend, an atheist told me once that my fellow religion mate who fought on behalve of God, are killing each other to proof that they have the best imaginary friend. lol

at least i have made a fair bet, no? nothing for nothing. or everything for everything.

I believe in God, but no more religion for me though. Enough seeing so called "religious people" turned out just another fake believer and they sure do full of crap.

How about the case of the new president of Paraguay, a catholic bishop who ran for president and won and then was reduced to the lay state by the Pope. Talking about religion and politics.!

Interesting to hear an Irishman being sceptical about religion.

If people believe what they should believe, i don't mind. However, if they become violent because of what they believe then i'll be resisting it.

Although i was brought up in a very strict Catholic environment, the only thing that stands out about my religion is that there is a cheap but nice dim sum in front of the church...yummy

a citu, but what should ppl believe? who's to say?

i hjave a feeling, that while some irish ppl still call themselves christian, they are on the whole pretty darn sceptical about the whole thing

Yes John, this is what really matters: being decent.

As for the ex-catholic bishop, yes it was surprising, but at least he did the right thing. A cleric in politics is like an Ayatollah.
